Annual air Traffic in Goa is predicted to hit 2.4million by 2014 and 4.6million by 2024, almost a 50% increase. A new secondary international airport at Mopa in North Goa is underway, and Rs 400 Crore is being invested into the Dabolim airport. Expected to be complete in two years time it will be over twice the size, including duty free shopping malls, business centres and multi-level car parking. In addition to this, major investment is underway into the states highway network. This will further encourage major growth of the tourism and business sectors within Goa.

Goa has high investment attractiveness, a literacy rate of over 80% and India's largest English speaking population per capita. Goa enjoys one of the best telecom densities in the country with an ongoing "Goa Broadband" project - a PPP government initiative considered to be the first of its kind in the country, connecting almost every house hold.

It is for these reasons that returns witnessed within Goa over the past decade have continued at such an attractive rate. Some of the biggest returns made are within the Goa real estate market. Whilst property prices in tier one cities such as Delhi & Mumbai witnessed falls of 20%-30% due to the global recession, Goa property prices merely levelled off with further growth project by the end of 2009. It is a testament to the strength of the Goan economy that it has managed to weather the effects of the global downturn, and still maintain its values.
